Currently, the University Libraries is hiring for two faculty positions.


Associate Dean of Libraries for Administration and Operations and Associate Professor or Professor

Reporting to the Dean of Libraries, the Associate Dean for Administration and Operations is responsible for assisting with planning and operations and ensuring that the Georgia Southern Libraries engage in continuous, data-informed improvement in support of the Libraries and University strategic plans. Along with the Associate Dean for Research & Assessment, the Associate Dean for Administration and Operations assists the Dean in gathering data and writing reports. The Associate Dean for Administration and Operations, the Associate Dean for Research and Assessment, and the library department heads comprise the Dean's Advisory Council.

Electronic Resources Librarian & Assistant Professor

Reporting to the Head of the Collection Services Department, the Electronic Resources Librarian oversees the general configuration and maintenance of the University Libraries' supported databases and electronic resources, A-Z database list, discovery layer, OPAC, link resolver, and access management systems; ensures timely resolution of all related troubleshooting and enhancement requests, and communicates updates, enhancements, and service interruptions to all Libraries personnel. This position is also responsible for evaluating the libraries' existing collections as well as exploring potential acquisitions with input from university stakeholders, leading large-scale assessment projects, and providing data to departmental faculty for department- and college-level accreditation reports.  This position also supervises two Collection Services staff on the Armstrong Campus and is a 12-month, tenure-track appointment.  The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
