Census 2020 for GS students

Did you know that the 2020 Decennial Census (a.k.a. Census 2020) is mandatory?

To date, only 34.1% of households in Georgia have responded to this mandatory survey. It’s easy and takes less than 5 minutes to fill out online. Help keep things moving forward and fill out your Census today!

Here is what Georgia Southern students need to do to complete their Census during the COVID-19 pandemic.
IF YOU LIVE ON-CAMPUS: Housing will fill out the survey for you.
IF YOU LIVE OFF-CAMPUS: You should  have received an invitation to participate in the census in the mail beginning in mid-March, and you can respond to the questionnaire online, on the phone or by paper. You should respond using the address at which you would be living on April 1 if not for the COVID-19 pandemic.

To fill out the Census questionnaire online, visit https://my2020census.gov/ and click “Start Questionnaire”.

Have your invitation?
Use the 12-digit Census ID on your invitation to begin filling out the questionnaire online.

Don’t have your invitation?
No worries, simply visit https://my2020census.gov/ and click “If you do not have your census ID, click here.”. This will take you to a page to type in the address of where you live most of the time as of April 1, 2020. Once you do that, you can begin filling out the questionnaire!
