SUBJECT: Student parking
COMMENT: Parking - please help the students by making parking more available and/or make walking a safer option.
RESPONSE:
Thank you for your suggestion. Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for parking on campus. I will forward you suggestion to them. It would be helpful if you would provide more detail on ways you would prefer student parking be made available and how walking could be made safer. After hours, students are free to park in the lot behind the library, on Sweetheart Circle, and in the lot behind Lewis Hall. There are a number of sidewalks leading to the library. They may not always be the most direct route, but it is always possible to approach the library via safe paths if one watches for traffic before crossing roads. Cutting through the parking lot is the least safe approach to the entrance at the back of library. At the front entrance bikes and carts are supposed to yield to pedestrians.
