SUBJECT: Hole punches and staplers

COMMENT: It would be very nice to have a hole punch and stapler on the ground floor near the computers/printers. It is often times a very big inconvenience to pack all ones bags to walk upstairs to use these, just to have to return downstairs and unpack ones belongings again. I understand it is difficult to leave these items unsupervised thanks to the thieves and vagrants the University continues to admit whom seem to steal or break everything they see. However, library personnel are often in this area and a continuing/increase in presence in this area would help deter this.

RESPONSE:
Thank you for your suggestion. I will share it with appropriate library personnel. The hole punches and staplers provided on second floor are relatively expensive. They have to be heavy duty to withstand regular use. Additional purchases of such items are not in this year's budget. In the meantime, I encourage you to plan your work so that you use the hole punch and stapler when you are doing work on second floor or leaving the building.
