SUBJECT: Book delivery
I think it'd be great if the library created a small delivery service to students.
Students could come online and checkout a book and then by a certain time the
next day the library could have a member of staff deliver the books to the p.o.
boxes here on campus. This would be a great service to students who don't
have a lot of time or who can't park because of the limited area. Please
consider.
Thanks, . . .
RESPONSE:
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, the Library has had to reduce hours
because of budget cuts and has lost three full-time employee positions for the
same reason. Those reductions in staff and services make it particularly challenging
for us to consider adding the type of new service you suggest. The mail delivery
of books would also have a considerable impact on campus postal services.
However, I am sharing your suggestion with other members of the Library's administration.
