SUBJECT: Renewing books

When purchasing books for the library I would highly reccommend that you include books by an extraordinary African American female author name Bernice McFadden. Some of her works include: Sugar, The Warmest December, and This Bitter Earth. In addtion to this some others quite notable African American authors that no have no books in the Henderson library are Omar Tyree and Jerome Dickey. The library holds books from authors E.Lynn Harris and Bebe Moore Campbell but none of their recent works. Their are at least 7 books between them that are recent publications that the library does not hold.

RESPONSE:

Thank you for recommending authors and titles for the library to purchase. The library is always looking for new books to add to the collection and especially to the library's Browsing Collection. We have a committee made up of library staff that review the requests during the year and try to purchase as many books as our limited budget allows. I will forward your requests to the committee for review.

Thank you for taking the time to send the Library suggestions.
