While we will respond to requests for materials as soon as time permits (usually within 24 hours), patrons will gain access to materials more quickly if they provide a request for materials before they come to use them. We will attempt to provide materials the same day they are requested, but this may not always be possible. For more information on making advance requests, as well as access to the on-line forms, please see the Special Collections Queries/Requests page. Paper copies of the forms will be available at the Circulation Desk, as will a place for patrons to leave forms if Special Collections staff are unavailable.
Materials are only allowed to leave the Special Collections area for
the following reasons: 1) request for use in an exhibit by Georgia
University departments or off-campus museums, 2) temporary loans to
repositories, or 3) requests from faculty to use original materials in
a class. These requests are subject to the approval of the Dean of the
Library or designated personnel.
