Account books; letters; Rotary Club material; newspapers; material on REA. Mr. Carswell was a prominent Burke County citizen, Rotarian and Methodist layman. He was the first Republican to run for Congress in Georgia since Reconstruction. His plantation, Belview, has been owned by his family since 1839.
