-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. This file is made up of the items which were
between two cardboard sheets taped together. The correspondence is mostly
from Gould's military career.
2. This document was important to Gould because it
proved that he was discharged from the Army during World
War I. World War I officially ended on July 1, 1921.
3. Note: These are items which
were definitely published. Usually I list the title of the piece,
then the place (newspaper or magazine) and date of publication. Other
works may have been published, but we have no information on that. Also,
the first item listed, the booklet, was definitely professionally printed,
but I can find no information about when or where.
4. I am dividing Colonel Gould's other works into
categories. This file contains the ones with exact dates given for when
the piece was written.
5. These pieces are ones where Gould simply gives
the age he was when he wrote the piece. His age at the time is the number
in brackets at the end of the line.
6. These are the pieces which have no indication of
the time at which they were written.
