Special Collections Information
What is Special Collections?
Special Collections is the name given to the section of the library which
holds rare books and manuscripts. Rare books are books which are special
to Henderson Library for some reason; for example, books which are autographed
by the author or are written by GSU professors would be placed in the rare
book collection. Manuscripts are the papers of indivduals or organizations
of importance to the community; for example, the papers of local politicians
and records of local businesses make up quite a bit of the Manuscripts
Collection.
Special Collections Access
Because of the nature of Special Collections material, access to Special
Collections is somewhat restrictive. Special Collections materials may be
used in the Special Collections office, which is located on the fourth
floor of Henderson Library. Special Collections
materials may not be checked out.
Special Collections Hours
Special Collections open hours are 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday, based on
