Special Collections is the name given to the section of the library which holds rare books and manuscripts. Rare books are books which are special to Henderson Library for some reason; for example, books which are autographed by the author would be placed in the rare book collection. Manuscripts are the papers of individuals or organizations of importance to the community; for example, the papers of local politicians and records of local businesses make up quite a bit of the manuscripts Collection.
