The purpose of Special Collections is to collect, maintain,
and preserve manuscripts, papers, and other items associated
with Georgia Southern University and the state of Georgia,
particularly the southeastern region of Georgia made up of the
counties of Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Chatham, Effingham,
Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Tattnall, and Toombs; it also houses
Henderson Library's collection of rare books. These items are
available to the students, faculty, and staff of Georgia Southern
University, and to the general public, subject to policies established
for the use of Special Collections.
