1. In order for Georgia Southern University to step up to the next level of academic excellence, seek additional materials funding to improve access to scholarly resources. (Academic Distinction, Student-Centered University.)

2. Continue evaluating alternative means of delivering resources. Recommend to appropriate departments the replacement of selected high-price subscriptions with Table of Contents Alerts and rapid document delivery. Redirect savings to new acquisitions. 3. Continue conducting Institutional Effectiveness Plan assessments. (Academic Distinction, Student-Centered University.)

4. Seek additional staffing to increase productivity, improve services, and restore lost service hours. (Academic Distinction, Student-Centered University.)

5. Seek approval of the Library’s Quality Enhancement Plan proposal for teaching information literacy in selected courses. (Academic Distinction.)

6. Work with academic units to implement further information literacy learning programs for graduate and undergraduate students. (Academic Distinction.)

7. Work with academic units to promote interdisciplinary cooperation and celebrate scholarship. (Academic Distinction.)

10. Seek funding to reclassify selected staff positions to more accurately reflect the level and complexity of performed duties, and therefore attract the most qualified job candidates. (Technological Advancement.)

11. In cooperation with Information Technology Services, develop and maintain an electronic institutional repository of faculty scholarship. (Technological Advancement.)

12. In cooperation with Information Technology Services, implement MYSQL to support electronic theses, the TLT information literacy program, the new Information Services program EagleSource, and the new Special Collections search engine. (Technological Advancement.)

13. Maintain at least a satisfactory level of service during construction and renovation project. (Student-Centered University, Physical Environment.)

14. Continue promoting the Library’s intellectual resources that support the campus’s multicultural and transcultural activities. (Transcultural Opportunities.)

15. Submit proposals to private foundations for funding to purchase or lease information resources and to purchase equipment for the library expansion project. (Private and Public Partnerships.)

16. Further develop and use the Friends of the Library Board of Directors to seek private support. (Private and Public Partnerships.)
