• is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by the Federal Government. The information provided on this site is the official, published version and the information retrieved from GPO Access can be used without restriction, unless specifically noted. This free service is funded by the Federal Depository Library Program and has grown out of Public Law 103-40, known as the Government Printing Office Electronic Information Enhancement Act of1993.

• (Licensed Database)  STAT-USA is available only to Georgia Southern campus network as it is a licensed database. STAT-USA is an agency in the Economics and Statistics Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce that produces vital economic, business, and international trade information produced by the U.S. Government. STAT-USA is an online resource useful to all parties interested in doing business overseas. NTDB (National Trade Data Base)  is the CD-ROM version of primarily the same information. • Foreign Tariff, Taxes, & Customs Information The U.S. Department of Commerce's Trade Information Center is the first stop for information about all federal export assistance programs, as well as country and regional market information.

• BISNIS Online is the home page for the Department of Commerce's Business Information Service for the Newly Independent States (BISNIS), the U.S. Government's one-stop shop for doing business in Russia and the other states of the former Soviet Union. This webpage has the actual rate of customs for Russia and the new countries originating from Russia.

• NOAA National Data Centers (NNDC) develop both national and global data sets that have been used by both government and the private sector to maximize the resource provided by our climate and minimize the risks of climate variability and weather extremes. The Center has a statutory mission to describe the climate of the United States and NCDC acts as the Nation's Scorekeeper regarding the trends and anomalies of weather and climate. NCDC's climate data have been used in a variety of applications including agriculture, air quality, construction, education, energy, engineering, forestry, health, insurance, landscape design, livestock management, manufacturing, recreation and tourism, retailing, transportation, and water resources management among other areas. Our data and products fulfill needs ranging from building codes to power plant and space shuttle design. Our Nation's climate data are critical to our modern lifestyles.

• United States Information Services provides news on latest global happenings for the White House Briefing Room as well as access to the Washington File for daily releases of government official texts, policy statements and interpreted material features and byline articles.

• DOE Information Bridge DOE Information Bridge, a component of EnergyFiles, provides free, convenient, and quick access to full-text DOE research and development reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics.

• CenStats contains official statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau. These statistics primarily cover business and economic aspects of local, state and national life. Within CenStats there are several different database applications that can be searched. More census data can be obtained from the homepage of the U S Census Bureau.
   
• More than 70 agencies in the United States Federal Government produce statistics of interest to the public.  

• The Massachusetts Institute for Social and Economic Research (MISER) is an interdisciplinary research institute of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The foreign trade unit at MISER provides timely export and import statistics.

• Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is the nation's economic accountant, preparing estimates that illuminate key national, international, and regional aspects of the U.S. economy.

• The White House home page provides links to online information about news of the President and the Executive branch of government, policies which are currently prominent in the White House, appointments, major speeches, features of the White House, other offices of the Executive Office of the President, the cabinet members and their departments, the other branches of the U.S. government, information about the President, Vice President, and the First Lady, and an updating feature about the American response to terrorism at home and abroad.

• There are three major areas covered by : Legislation, Congressional Records, and Committee Information. Congressional Record includes the days-in-session calendars for the House and Senate. Committee Information links to Senate hearing schedules. Other categories such as Congress in the News, the Legislative Process and Historical Documents help to inform the nation of up to date activities of Congress.
