Borrower requests for items in CRS

Borrower requests for items in CRS will be accepted from any of Georgia Southern's faculty or students. We will not fill requests for material in CRS for GIL Express or ILL.

The Resource Management unit of CRS will handle most of these requests because the bulk of material appearing in the OPAC with a CRS location will be in our unit awaiting cataloging. The requested title should be located and flagged with a notify flag for the library user or the Access Services staff member making the request. The title will get priority handling. The title should complete all Resource Management processes by the end of the day that the request is made.

Rush/ Notify Items

Items with special handling flags in them such as RUSH or Faculty notification forms should be completed ahead of items in the regular flow of work.

RUSH items must have a RUSH flag in them and are to be sorted from the truck in Resource Management when a truck is ready and cataloged immediately. These items are to be hand carried to the processor before 11 a.m.

NOTIFY items are to be cataloged and updated before the end of the day that you receive them. They are to be hand carried to the processor as soon as Resource Management processes for the title are complete.

Rush items must be flagged RUSH in order to assure same-day processing (labeling, etc.)

Faculty notification forms or Notify flags are placed in NOTIFY material and do not indicate that the item should be rushed.
