There must be at least one subject heading with a 2nd indicator of 0 or
7 on each bibliographic record. If valid subject headings are present, delete
all subject headings with other values entered as the 2nd indicator.
Correcting Subject Headings
Corrections may be made to preserve and update invalid subject headings
if there are no valid subject headings on a bibliographic record.
Locate the record with subjects that need replacing in Voyager.
Open Connexion.
Copy the OCLC number from Voyager for the record to be updated and
paste it into Connexion.
Verify that the correct title has been located. (Skip to instructions
below if importing the record.)
Print the bibliographic record
Update the information in the subject headings using the headings
on the OCLC printout
Save the record to the Database
It may be necessary to import the OCLC record if other fields (856,
etc.) have been substantially updated.
Export the record into Voyager.
Copy any fields which have been edited from Voyager into the OCLC
record
