Checking in
Some material sent from Government Documents in the Shipping List boxes
is retained in Resource Management as reference material for cataloging. These
titles are in the Serials Management records as standing orders and will
need to be checked in by that unit prior to cataloging. They sill also need
to be notified when we send superseded editions to the Government Documents
department to be removed from the collection.
Titles currently used as Cataloging Resources

Cataloging the titles
These titles will be cataloged just as any other federal document (monograph
or serial). Serials with no history of cataloging by a serials librarian or
having multiple records in Voyager will be routed for cataloging review. Fully
cataloged serials will follow their usual added volume procedure before coming
to CRS for shelving.
For monographs, the full bibliographic record will be imported and saved
to replace the Marcive temp in Voyager Cataloging. There are no sets for which
we add monographic volumes. Some titles require filing of loose-leaf packets
into binders.
All records will remain in the public catalog.
