Charles Seabrook, environmental writer for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and author of the book Cumberland Island: Strong Women, Wild Horses, will discuss the history of Cumberland Island and sign copies of his book at a luncheon on Friday, September 26, noon to 1:30, in the Family and Consumer Science Building dining room.
The four course menu will include: Plank Roasted Lemon Pepper Flounder with Creamy Southern Style Grits, Fried Green Tomato Mescaline Salad with Honey Herbed Vinaigrette, Cumberland Pork, Pecan Rice Pilaf and Sweated Southern Style Collard Greens, and Brandied Peach Custard Pie.The luncheon is sponsored by the Friends of Henderson Library, and the meal will be prepared and served by students in Georgia Southern University's Hotel and Restaurant Management program. Copies of Mr. Seabrook's book will be on sale before and after the luncheon.
Tickets are $20 each and available from the Dean of the Library's office, fourth floor of the Library, 681-5115.
