FAQs for STUDENTS

AdditionComputingCan I use computers in the library? Library computer labs have been reduced by two-thirds in preparation for moving into temporary quarters in the new addition. Approximately 100 computers are still available. All library electronic resources are available 24-hours a day from any computer connected to the campus network.

Does the library offer wireless access? Yes.

What books are on the open shelves in the addition? Books that have circulated a number of times, books recently purchased, current periodicals, and periodicals published since 1990.

How do I get a book from the automated system? When you look up a book in the online catalog and you find that it is in the automated system, you can place the request from the computer you’re using. That will send the message to the automated system to retrieve the book, and you can pick it up from the circulation desk. After we move into the addition, that process should only take about fifteen minutes. It will take longer until the addition is open to the public.

What books are in remote storage? Books that have not circulated in the last ten years and Georgia and federal documents are in remote storage.
