Database & Resource Updates for December 2016
The library is excited to announce the following updates to our databases and resources:
New Open-Access Database Now Available – Slavery in America and the World: History, Culture & Law
The library is happy to announce the addition of a new open-access database to our collection. Slavery in America and the World: History, Culture & Law brings together a multitude of essential legal materials on slavery in the United States and the English-speaking world. This includes every statute passed by every colony and state on slavery, every federal statute dealing with slavery, and all reported state and federal cases on slavery.
Slavery in America and the World: History, Culture & Law is available via the library’s A-Z Database List and Catalog.
North Georgia Historic Newspapers Archive Has Expanded
The North Georgia Historic Newspapers Archive now provides access to fifteen newspaper titles published in nine North Georgia cities (Canton, Cassville, Cedartown, Clayton, Cleveland, Dahlonega, Dalton, Gainesville, and Rome) from 1850 to 1928. Consisting of over 63,000 newspaper pages, the archive provides historical images that are both full-text searchable and can be browsed by date. The site is compatible with all current browsers and the newspaper page images can be viewed without the use of plug-ins or additional software downloads.
RIA Checkpoint Is Now Called Checkpoint
The RIA Checkpoint database is now called Checkpoint. The library’s A-Z Database List and Catalog have been updated to reflect these changes. Links to RIA Checkpoint will be removed from the A-Z Database List on Monday, January 9th, 2017. Please begin using the new links.
Journal Citation Reports Is Now Available via the InCites Platform
Journal Citation Reports is now available through the updated InCites platform. The Journal Citation Reports module within InCites allows you to evaluate and compare journals using citation data drawn from approximately 12,000 scholarly and technical journals and conference proceedings from more than 3,300 publishers in over 60 countries. Journal Citation Reports is the only source of citation data on journals, and includes virtually all specialties in the areas of science, technology, and social sciences.
Current Contents Connect Is Now Available via Web of Science
Current Contents Connect is now available through the Web of Science platform. Current Contents Connect is a current awareness database that provides easy Web access to complete tables of contents, abstracts, bibliographic information, and abstracts from the most recently published issues of leading scholarly journals, as well as from more than 7,000 relevant, evaluated websites.
