Hot Doc: Katmai National Park #Bearcam
Join in the centennial celebration of our National Park Service by bear watching bears in Katmai National Park, from the safety and comfort of the library on the other side of the continent!
If you haven’t seen it yet, stop by and enjoy Alaskan bears fishing for salmon at the Gov Docs display in the Learning Commons. This is a terrific webcam, with a lot of action. The camera moves to make sure there is bear activity in the frame at all times, at least during daylight hours, which last well into our nighttime here. I’ve included a link on the information sheet beside the Mac for additional nature cams at our national parks via explore.org. If you haven’t checked this site out, and like to watch animals, you’ll want to after seeing the bears! You can watch from your own machine, or you can watch them in Gov Docs as you’re passing through. Please sign the guest log to let us know you stopped by, and feel free to comment.
Due to popular demand, the #bearcam will be up through August.
We are also currently displaying Library Journal‘s annual Notable Government Documents, and welcome comments on those as well.
