Come see our newest exhibit in the Learning Commons on the Second Floor of the Library, near the scanners. Help Desk Support Technician Kyle Herman showcases the site of Saint Elijah monastery in Mosul, Iraq in this display. Satellite imagery from AllSource Analysis shows that the Saint Elijah monastery in Mosul, Iraq is no longer standing. It has joined a growing list of over 100 historical and religious sites in Syria and Iraq that have been demolished. Though just now making headlines, the monastery was likely destroyed in late August 2014 after Mosul fell to ISIS control.
