Behind The Scenes: Secrets of Monticello
Have you seen the September issue of Southern Living? If not, check out the article “Breaking Ground…Stroll Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello garden – it revolutionized farming and still inspires us to save seeds for a brighter future” available here.
What perfect timing to “kick off” Henderson Library’s upcoming Farm to Table event scheduled for September 13th, featuring Savannah’s own, Damon Lee Fowler, editor of Dining at Monticello, a collection of recipes from Thomas Jefferson’s home.
The five-course menu will offer such delights as Tupelo Honey Glazed Pork Belly with Braised Collard Greens and Cornbread, Spinach Salad with Tarragon Wine Vinaigrette, Olive Poached Beef Tenderloin , Carolina Gold Rice and Roasted Butternut Squash. These delicious dishes will be paired with select wines by Chef Kevin Case. Topping off the evening will be a wonderful dessert of Bread Pudding with Peach Ice Cream and Brandy Cream Sauce.
Tickets for the event are still available by calling Henderson Library at 912-478-5115, or stop by the Administrative Office.
