Hot Doc: Super Tuesday Ballot

Tuesday March 6, 2012 is Super Tuesday, and it is time to vote in Georgia!  This sample ballot is what you will see when you go to the polls, but keep in mind not all candidates listed on the Republican ticket are still running for President. There is a specific procedure for removing oneself from a ballot, and there is a deadline for that. If individuals do not submit the request to be removed from the ballot, or do not do so by the deadline, the individual’s name will remain on the ballot. That is why you will see nine candidates on the Republican ballot when there are only four viable candidates. Because Georgia is an open primary state, everyone has the option to vote on the Republican ballot on Super Tuesday, regardless of party affiliation, since there is only one candidate on the Democratic ballot, and no one on the Nonpartisan ballot. This does not change a democrat’s voting options in the November election.
