Hot Doc: 9/11 10 Years Later
As part of the NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security’s commemoration of the ten year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the Homeland Security Digital Library will host ten special posts on its blog. Beginning Tuesday, July 5, the HSDL will publish one blog per week discussing different facets of our shared American experience that have changed significantly or been affected deeply by that historic Tuesday morning of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Our goal is to honor those who died that day by highlighting some of the lessons learned and changes that have occurred as we seek to ensure nothing like 9/11 ever happens again. The schedule is below – HSDL will post on Tuesdays and update this list with links after the post is published.
July 5 – Terrorism, Terrorists and Threats
July 12 – The Department of Homeland Security
July 19 – The 9/11 Commission Recommendations
July 26 – Emergency Preparedness
August 2 – Border Security and Immigration
August 9 – Transportation and Travel
August 16 – Freedoms and Rights
August 23 – Protecting Critical Infrastructure
August 30 – Communication
September 6 – Commemorating 9/11
On September 15, 2011, in honor of Constitution Day, the Zach S. Henderson Library, Student Affairs, Financial Aid, and Student Media will host a commemoration of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with a diverse panel discussion on the USA PATRIOT Act.
