Sweater Recycling! Join the “Happy Endings Crafter’s Group” at Henderson Library as they repurpose and recycle sweaters etc. into “new,” useful, or just plain cute items. Stop by to watch as they work, ask a few questions, or work on a project of your own. Bring an old sweater to cut up and make into a vest, a stuffed animal, or just get some ideas. Bring your own or materials will be provided. Stay a few minutes or for your lunch hour!
4 – 5:30p.m.
Henderson Library, first floor (near Room 1300)
Reception for Tom Amettis’ “Fine Art from Found Objects” exhibit that is on the first floor near room 1300. Come view the exhibit, meet the artist and ask him any questions you may have about his unconventional works of art. Refreshments will be provided by Becky Larson’s Meal Management class and is featuring local and in-season food. Come join the fun!
NO IMPACT WEEK STARTS SUNDAY!
Are you ready for the challenge? Can you do for a week what No Impact Man did for a year? Reduce your consumption, eliminate your waste production, ride your bike walk or take the bus, eat local sustainable food, reduce your energy use, and your water use and give back to the earth? Register for No Impact Week (April 10-19) to take the challenge. You’ll receive daily emails with updates about the many activities on campus to help you meet the challenge, as well as a guidebook to help you navigate the week. Grab your friends and your clubs/teams and register! And this isn’t just for students! – Click on the No Impact Week slide on MyGeorgiaSouthern to take you to the registration page or click here:http://noimpactproject.org/experiment/university-no-impact-week-registration/.
