Ancestry.com Library Edition – new interface coming soon

Please see below for an announcement from GALILEO about a new interface for Ancestry.com, which is only accessible inside the Zach S. Henderson Library.  The Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as:

  • U.S. Federal Census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930
  • Map Center containing more than 1,000 historical maps
  • American Genealogical Biographical Index (over 200 volumes)
  • Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage (over 150 volumes)
  • The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-1630
  • Social Security Death Index (updated monthly)
  • WWI Draft Registration Cards
  • Federal Slave Narratives
  • Civil War collection

On Wednesday, April 13th, the new search interface for Ancestry Library Edition will be released. (Ancestry Library Edition is available to public and academic libraries.)

ProQuest has advised that the new search interface will require Internet Explorer 7 or higher. Additional information can be found in the full announcement below.

Browser Support
In the previous email you received from ProQuest, we advised that the new Ancestry Library Edition requires Internet Explorer version 7 or higher. Firefox version 3.x will also be fully supported.
