Database trials and evaluations: IBISWorld and Morningstar
The Zach S. Henderson Library is sponsoring two business databases for trial and evaluation.
IBISWorld: U.S. Industry Reports contains in-depth surveys of 723 industries. Reports are usually 30-50 pages long. Reports cover industry segments, market characteristics, industry conditions, profiles of key companies, and industry outlook. There are numerous statistical tables, which can be exported to Excel. Reports are updated every four months. This trial is being provided until Oct. 31, 2010.
Morningstar Investment Research Center is a comprehensive financial database. While it was designed it for easy use, regardless of a patron’s investing experience, it still contains thousands of bits of information. The Guide shows you what information you’ll find in the database, where it is located, and how to use it to make better investing decisions. This trial is being provided until Dec. 15, 2010.
We would love to know what you think about these database and their usefulness in support of our curriculum and/or faculty research. Please e-mail Jonathan Harwell, Collection Development & Assessment Librarian, at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a comment here at Zach’s News.
