Why use GALILEO when there’s Google?

A new addition to the Henderson Library’s information literacy tutorials explores this question with the tutorial,  Galileo and Google: Information Discovery available at http://academics.georgiasouthern.edu/fye/Galileo/Galileo.html This 10 minute video tutorial presents the purpose and benefits of locating information by accessing GALILEO, Georgia’s virtual Library and Google ®, one of the most popular search engines available. Also, this tutorial instructs students on how to identify scholarly and popular periodical literature. Take a look at this tutorial as well as the other tutorials that support the information literacy learning outcomes for the FYE 1220 course. http://library.georgiasouthern.edu/libref/henderson_infolit_tutorials.html
