As a Constitutional Historian, Dr. Johnathan O'Neill will discuss crucial points about Ben Franklin's diplomacy that won over France to the Revolutionary cause and his effective political maneuvering during the Constitutional Convention of 1787. Moreover, he will refer to Franklin's realization that his country was entering a new age of modern pluralist-democratic politics and individualism. Finally, he will reference the new re-examination of Franklin undertaken by historians Gordon Wood and Edmund Morgan.

Special Guests: Mrs. Clare Ellis, a descendant of Benjamin Franklin, who lives in Savannah, Georgia, her family, and a surprise addition that she will bring to our exhibit.
