People from the African Diaspora have migrated in various ways throughout space, time, and history. These journeys involve family, social institutions, and political movements. Valetta Anderson will discuss her experience as a Black woman and playwright and how Black migration has played a role in her work. Her live stage plays include “Hallelujah Street Blues,” “The Match,” “Leaving Limbo,” “Today” and “She’ll Find Her Way Home.” She is a member of Working Title Playwrights in Atlanta, Georgia, the Dramatists Guild and the New Play Exchange and is a former professor of playwriting at Spelman College.

Her lecture will be followed by a discussion and Q&A. This event is free and open to the public.
