Objectives for 2003-04

1. Employ the collection development policy selection criteria to analyze our collection's strengths and weaknesses. (Academic Distinction.)

2. Test the usability of the Library's Web site and modify the design as needed. (Student-Centered University, Technological Advancement.)

3. Continue evaluating alternative means of delivering resources. Recommend to appropriate departments the replacement of selected high-price subscriptions with Table of Contents Alerts and rapid document delivery. Redirect savings to new acquisitions. (Academic Distinction, Technological Advancement.)

4. Improve campaign to promote "mini"endowment program and other giving opportunities. (Academic Distinction.)

5. Continue effectiveness assessments by conducting the LibQUAL+ survey. (Academic Distinction, Student-Centered University.)

6. Further develop and use the Friends of the Library Board of Directors to seek private support. (Private and Public Partnerships.)

7. Continue promoting the Library's intellectual resources that support the campus's multicultural and transcultural activities. (Transcultural Opportunities.)

8. Work with other academic units to develop information literacy learning goals for graduate and undergraduate students. (Academic Distinction.)

9. Work with the First-Year Experience program and enrollment management programs to develop further the Library's learning skills workshops. (Academic Distinction.)

10. Implement a system for supporting electronic theses and dissertations with the Graduate College and IT Services. (Technological Advancement.)

11. Maintain at least a satisfactory level of service during construction and renovation project. (Student-Centered University, Physical Environment.)

12. Provide expanded student study in computing areas. (Student-Centered University, Physical Environment.)

13. Investigate means of providing extended, 24x7 virtual reference service. (Student-Centered University.)

14. Submit proposals to private foundations for funding to purchase or lease information resources and to purchase equipment for the library expansion project. (Public/Private Partnerships.)

15. Seek additional staffing to increase productivity and improve services. (Academic Distinction, Student-Centered University.)

16. Seek additional materials funding to improve access to scholarly resources. (Academic Distinction, Student-Centered University.)
