renewals are allowed. See also How to Renew Books
Online.
For most materials the Henderson Library charges $40 plus a non-refundable
$15 processing fee. The replacement charge for video recordings
and motion pictures is $100.
The Henderson Library does not charge fines.
However, borrowers with items over 14 days overdue will not be allowed
to check out any more items until the overdue items are returned.
If an item is checked out to one customer and is overdue and another
customer places a recall request on the item, we will recall it. Individuals
who receive recall notices are asked to return the items immediately.
The Online Catalog will show the status of "Recalled" for those items.
If an item you need is missing from the shelf and you would like us
to search for it, please fill out a Search Request form. If it is a circulating
item such as a book or video recording, please make sure the item is
not checked out. If we find it we will notify you and hold it at the
Circulation Desk for seven days. If we cannot find it in two weeks you
will be notified.
Any University System of Georgia student, faculty member, or staff
member in good standing may check out materials from any of the other
35 University System libraries using GIL Express. Patrons are not required
to have a Georgia Southern ID to use this service, but they will be asked
for a picture ID. The checkout period is 28 days and renewals are allowed,
either in person or online. There are no fines for overdue materials,
although some participating institutions do have a fine for failing to
return an item which has been recalled. However, if patrons allow any
items to become overdue, they will lose all circulation and reserve privileges
at all University System libraries, including their home libraries. Materials
checked out by GIL Express may be returned to any other University System
library.
There are book drops at the Circulation Desk and at the back entrance.
A-V/Reserve items and should not be put in the bookdrops. Interlibrary
Loans should be returned to the Circulation/Reserves Desk.
Most items on Reserve circulate for two hours and must be used in the
Henderson Library. Some reserve items can be taken from the Library for
one day, three days, or one week.
Copiers take bills in denominations of 5, 2, and 1 dollars and any change except pennies. Students and faculty may charge copies to their Eagle ID cards. If Library patrons choose to use the value on their Eagle IDs to make copies, they can add value online. This service requires a credit card. Staff at the Circulation/Reserves Desk will be glad to show patrons how to add value to their Eagle IDs as well as answer any questions about copiers. The cost is ten cents per page.
