SUBJECT: Construction Progress - Phase II
RESPONSE:
We apologize for not responding sooner to your excellent question. The group
coordinating the plans for the library during the second phase discussed the
first question yesterday. Seating during phase two will be extremely limited,
and the group's conclusion was that the best way to serve our customers will
be to review use patterns after the move to decide which areas will be quiet
and which will not.
We have not discussed quiet floors the completed building, but it is
fairly likely that the third and fourth floors will be quiet floors since they
will have the fewest computers and will be arranged more or less the way they
are now. The Lorimer Reading Room will remain a quiet area when it becomes available
again.
Please let us know if you have other questions.
