For FY2011, the Friends of Henderson Library contributed more than $3,000 for the purchase of library resources to support the programs of the Departments of Literature & Philosophy, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Kinesiology & Sports Management and the Center for Sustainability. The Friends donated an additional $3,500 to help defray costs associated with GALILEO and Henderson Library's membership within the Center for Research Libraries.

Established in 2002, the Friends of Henderson Library is dedicated to supporting and strengthening the Library's services and collections. It strives to achieve this by:

1. Providing a forum for interested persons to show their support for the Library and to come together periodically for special fundraisers and library-related events.
   
2. Developing an awareness of the important academic role that Henderson Library plays within the University and the regional community.
   
3. Proposing to the Library administration projects for the organization to manage that would build support and resources for the Library's collections and services. Such projects may include events, activities, grants, and gift solicitations from individuals, corporations and foundations.
   
4. Encouraging others to support the Library through membership and participation in the Friends organization.

A Friends Council directs the Friends organization. Membership and donations to the Friends are tax deductible.  Many businesses offer programs that match qualified charitable gifts by their employees; please check with your or your spouse’s Human Resources department to see if they have such a matching program. The Friends of Henderson Library are especially grateful to our 2011 supporters.
